MASTERPLANNING AND STAGES 1 TO 4

The Mid North Coast Community College’s Nautilus Senior College is an independent special assistance school that operates a secondary program in Port Macquarie. The school shares premises with an out of school hours care, an indoor activity centre and cafe and community training facilities.

Some of the stages our studio has completed in collaboration with the College include:

Master planning of the campus buildings and future planning.

• Stage 1 and 2 – Refurbishment of existing indoor play centre, amenities and café; Refurbishment of two storey building, including general classrooms, new internal breakout area and new two storey entry foyer for the Senior College. Refurbishment of adjoining property for College administration, community training areas and trade practical areas.

• Stage 3 – Construction of new general learning areas and gymnasium, replacement of existing roof

• Stage 4-Construction of COLA, STEM and general learning classrooms

The programming of the spaces for mixed uses by the College, OOSHC, vacation care and the public indoor activity centre was an important factor in the selected material properties for durability, longevity and connection with the site whilst still maintaining a warm and welcoming learning environment.
